It is our pleasure to inform you that Ramboll Fonden (Ramboll’s charitable organization) has decided to support our Water Project to the tune of 330,000 Danish Krones. That is a little over $50,000 US dollars! Many thanks to Ramboll for the very generous support, without which we could not supply the community of Las Majadas with clean drinking water. With this support, we plan to complete the Pump, Electricity, and Chlorination portion of our Water Project.
The Las Majadas Water Supply Project is in the implementation phase. We are currently working on three separate facets to move the project forward. Conduction Lines, Distribution Lines, and Pump, Electrical, and Chlorination System
Conduction Line is currently in Phase 1, where CAD drawings are being revised and valve locations are chosen.
Distribution lines have been modeled in EPA net and have received feedback and will be revised per feedback received.
Pump, Electrical, and Chlorination System is currently being designed and purchased.
A big thank you Tetra Tech for supporting our project to create a resilient water supply system for the Las Majadas community! Check out their video!
Thank you everyone for coming out and raising a glass and over $400 for our water supply project in Las Majadas! We appreciate your support!
We are doing the final edits to our implementation report which will be the last step before we head down to Las Majadas and get our hands dirty and make this happen!
Beer Belly Deli and EWB Syracuse are hosting a fundraiser for our water supply project on June 25, from 5-9pm. There will be food, drink, and live music from EWB’s own Dan Kahn. Last year’s event had a big turn out, and was a great time! Don’t miss this one!
On Sunday, May 19th, thirteen teams turned out to play 90’s themed trivia at Wolff’s Biergarten in effort to raise funds for a water storage and distribution project in Las Majadas, Guatemala. The event was won on the final question by team ‘Out of Sync’. The winner took home a Bad Axe Throwing Package, while the second place team ‘Team Bill Miller’ won tickets to a Syracuse Mets game and some merchandise. Best dressed took home a booze basket.
We appreciate everyone coming out to help raise money for our cause. Thank you all so much!

Barton & Loguidice announced this year’s winner of their annual Community Service Award. The award is given to B&L employees who are working on ongoing and extraordinary projects to help provide a better life to those in need of help. B&L awarded this year’s grant to William Guida, who donated his $2,000 award towards EWB’s water supply project in Guatemala. This remarkably gracious donation puts EWB over 66% towards our financial goals for the project. Thank you William Guida and Barton & Loguidice for your generosity and help to making this project happen!
A big thank you to all who took part in the happy hour event which raised nearly $800 for EWB Syracuse’s water infrastructure project. It was a great success complete with vegan tacos, cold beer, and EWB’s own Dan Kahn putting on a great show.
We couldn’t do this without all of your support. At this point, we are over 60% to financing our project. Thank you everyone and we hope to see you at the next one!
